Song lyrics are "Fallin' for You" by Colbie Calliat
I don't know, but I think I may be falling for you.
Droppin' so quickly, maybe I should keep this to myself.
Wait until I know you better...
Tony sat at his desk, drumming his fingers together. His long time assistant, Bethany has just dropped off another stack of paperwork for him to peruse. He stared at the closed door. Bethany had been with Stewart-Haas since the start, and he had had a crush on her for just as long. Funny how he can be a successful businessman yet still have no clue how to talk to a pretty girl. I mean he could, he flirted like nobodies business, but he liked her a lot so all bets were off. The fact she worked for him didn't help either. He let out a frustrated sigh and rubbed his eyes. He knew so little about her. She lived alone with her cat, liked scary movies and took her coffee with three cream and two Splenda. She drove a red Miata with the license plate “JLLYBEAN”. She had long auburn hair that was always in a ponytail and hazel eyes that changed color depending on her mood. And she had a smile that made him weak in the knees. She was everything he wanted, but had no idea how to get her. He stood and stretched, getting his things together before heading home. He'd figure it out...somehow.
I've been spendin' all my time just thinking 'bout you.
I don't know what to do, I think I'm fallin' for you.
I've been waitin' all my life, and now I've found you.
I don't know what to do, I think I'm fallin' for you.
I'm fallin' for you.
“Hey Beth, I'm out of here. Don't forget we have a meeting with Mobil 1 at ten tomorrow.” he said, trying to focus.
“Got it Tony. Plus you have a photo shoot at one, an interview at three and a nervous breakdown scheduled at five.” she said laughing.
“Awesome! Looking forward to five o'clock!” he laughed heartily. God, he was crazy about her!
“This is gonna sound so out of left field, but would you like to join me for dinner tonight? I mean, I understand if you don't want to but...”
“I'd love to Tony.” she interrupted, smiling that smile at him.
“Seriously?” he asked, just a little surprised.
“Of course. Would you mind following me home so I can change out of my work clothes?” she asked.
“No problem. Shut your computer down. Boss's orders!” he said with a wink.
They walked out together discussing there plans for the evening. They raced back to her house after deciding on BBQ at a local country bar. He was oddly nervous, but looking forward to getting to know her better.
As I'm standin' here, and you hold my hand.
Pull me towards you and we start to dance.
All around us, I see nobody.
Here in silence, it's just you and me.
He held the door open for her, discreetly checking out her ass in her snug Levi's. She wore khakis to work everyday...he was not disappointed. The hostess took them to a back booth in order to give them privacy. They each ordered a beer to start.
“Ya know, that thing about men holding the door open for women to be polite is a crock of shit. I know you were checking me out!” she said mischievously, sipping her beer.
Tony laughed loudly, turning fifty shades of red. She had busted him out right. He took a long swig of his beer. He knew she was a smart ass, but this was a side he had never seen! As he was getting his bearings together, the waitress appeared to take their orders. Again she surprised him, ordering a full rack of baby back ribs, a side of mac and cheese and baked beans. Before the waitress could leave she called her back.
“Could you bring us two shots of Jagermeister to go with our nachos?” she asked sweetly. Tony's eyebrows shot up.
“What? It's been a long day. Why not get a buzz on?” she smiled with a wicked gleam in her eyes.
Soon their nachos and jager arrived. They lifted their glasses.
“Here's to 14 in 14...and kicking some ass!” she said. They downed the shots in one gulp.
Conversation flowed effortlessly between them. They had more in common than he could have ever hoped for. As the night went on, the music got progressively louder. Finally, some slower music came on. Bethany stood up, grabbing Tony's hand.
“Come on kiddo, let's dance.” she said, pulling him to the dance floor. Tony wasn't much for dancing, but the alcohol and her presence made him forget that.
He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close. She wrapped her arms around his neck, burrowing her head into his neck. They swayed in time to Trace Adkins, lost in each other. She smelled of vanilla and flowers. He felt her lips brush the hair on his neck ever so lightly. He pulled his head back, meeting her gaze. Her eyes were a startling shade of green.
“Your eyes are so green.” he said huskily. “Why?”
She leaned in, kissing him softly on the lips. She gave him a knowing look.
“Wanna head back to my place?” Bethany smirked, green eyes blazing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am tryin' not to tell you, but I want to.
I'm scared of what you'll say.
So I'm hidin' what I'm feelin'.
But I'm tired of holdin' this inside my head.
Once the bill was paid, Tony grabbed Bethany by the hand and all but ran to his truck for the short trip to her house. As he pulled into her driveway and turned off the ignition, she turned to look at him.
“No thinking tonight Tony, OK?” she said, her eyes a mix of nerves and desire. He leaned over the console kissing her deeply.
They made their way to her front door. Her hands were shaking so hard it took three tries to get the key in the lock. Once inside her foyer, Tony pushed her up against the wall, kissing her fiercely.
“What the fuck Beth, what have you done to me?” he moaned as he made quick work removing her clothes.
“I've waited four long years for this moment.” she said, peppering his now bare chest with kisses.
“Follow me.” She took his hand, leading him to the living room.
She grabbed the remote, turning on her gas fireplace. Bethany laid on the floor, beckoning Tony to join her. He kissed her, then pulled back to say something. She placed her finger over his lips.
“No Tony.” she said firmly.
She pulled him down on top of her, their legs entwined. He reached behind her, gently removing her hairband, letting hair fall loosely over her shoulders.
“Very nice.” he murmured.
He explored every inch of her lean body, watching her react to his touch. He made love to her that night, taking his sweet time. The look in her eyes told him everything...she was as crazy about him as he was for her.
Afterward, they snuggled up together. They didn't need words to express their feelings. They had found each other at long last. He brushed her hair away from her now brown eyes and smiled at her. He couldn't wait to see what the future would hold.
I've been waitin' all my life,
and now I've found you.
Droppin' so quickly, maybe I should keep this to myself.
Wait until I know you better...
